“Excellent Value for Money! Well-run and very comfortable!”
We spent March, April, May, and June at Kingston Manor and highly recommend it prospective Victoria bound visitors. This rental complex has plenty going for it.
First, the suites are large and well appointed. Ours had a brand new flat screen, HD cable, and two La-z- Boys, the perfect combination for watching TV. For relaxing there was a comfortable “sofa bed” sofa. If you wanted to rent movies from the DVD store three blocks away, there was a DVD player. The Wifi worked as advertised. Plenty of bandwidth for Netflix.
Second, the kitchen was fully equipped – everything we needed. The king sized bed was comfortable and, with the windows open, we had a wonderful cross breeze. The neighbourhood was quiet. KM is just far enough off Oswego to mute any traffic noise.
Third, the complex itself was quiet. No noisy footfall problems and fellow tenants were friendly but reserved. No party animals. The laundry facilities were just fine and there were no parking problems. Assigned spaces and plenty of them.
The owners, Mike and JC, were regularly on site and knew all tenants by name. They are approachable and congenial. Any problems were dealt with immediately. For example, we had a leaky frig. Next day it was fixed. KM may be an income property, but it’s not an absentee owner operation.
What we really liked was the location. You could walk across the street to the Oswego on a Wednesday night and enjoy an evening of Jazz. Around the corner there were plenty of first rate restaurants and pubs. The inner harbor was a five minute walk. Ditto James Bay Village. Ten minutes one way took you right downtown. Ten minutes the other way took you up to the Dallas Road seashore or over to Beacon Hill Park. Victoria is a walking city and KM’s central location makes it perfect for folks that like exploring the city on foot.
We highly recommend Kingston Manor to prospective Victoria visitors. It was excellent value for money, well run and very comfortable. In short, it did not disappoint. The biggest compliment we can give it is to say that it lived up to its “as advertised” billing. A great place to spend a few months.
